3.01. MISSION OF STATEMENT:

It is designed and dedicated to provide the integrated alternative medical education (IAME) to the officially and or traditionally qualified practitioners of alternative medicines and healing with an opportunity to enhance their academic growth (knowledge and skills) to Postgraduate levels as - Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in general and speciality with the mission to provide the quality service to the patients and helps the community to lead a long productive life.

3.02 AIMS OF THE COURSE:

• To integrate the existing alternative medicine and healing on possible basis of the principles and diagnostics aspects of modern medicine.
• To enrich the alternative medicine with adequate scientific backgrounds
• To make alternative medicine and healing more assessable to the common men

3.03. AVAILABLE   ALTERNATIVE SYSTEMS:

India has many alternative medicines and healing systems available and practiced in its different part of the country. Most of them are traditionally carried out by their family on the basis of their family tradition without having any proper basic education but one thing is there i.e. it gives reliefs which draw the attention of the locality to seek their help as and when required. Out of all some of the system are enlisted here. For practical purposes, WAIM has involved the following Core and Optional systems.

• Physical Medicine (Core System).
• Yoga and Naturopathy (Core System).
• Electro Homeopathy (Core System).
• Acupuncture / Acupressure (Optional System).
• Herbal Medicine (Optional System).
• AUM Therapy (Optional System).
• Marma Therapy (Optional System)
• Psycho Healing (Optional System).

3.04. CHOICE OF SYSTEMS:

Candidates graduated in any core system can choose any two optional system and candidates qualified in optional system can choose any two more optional system for completion of their Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma course.

3.05. ELIGIBILITY TO ADMISSION:

The candidate seeking admission in the institute of alternative medicine must have passed the bachelor/graduate degree as BPT, BNYS, BEMS or Bachelor in any alternative medicine system / science or where the bachelor medical or health degree is not possible in the country, the candidate must have passed the bachelor/graduate degree with two years training in specific system. In case of an outstanding practitioner in any alternative system recognised locally by the community and the institution WAIM may approve and grant further relaxation.

3.06. COURSE CURRICULUM:

Each candidate will be separately intimated / guided for the course contents in theory, article /project, practical and viva-voce after Enrolment. Besides,  theory, practical including clinical, the candidate undergoing Diploma has to write an Article (Not Exceeding 30 Pages) and candidate undergoing Advanced Diploma has to submit a Project (Not Exceeding 50 Pages) except in rare as decided by Academic body of WAIM. The Article / Project must be submitted three months prior to final examination.

3.07. DURATION AND RELAXATION IN:

All the Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses run by World Association of Integrated Medicine through various institutions are of one, two and three years respectively. Candidates having two years or more experience in any health institution / healing centre will get one year exemption in Diploma Course and the candidates with five or more experience will get two years exemption in Advanced Diploma Course.

3.08. SPECIALITIES IN ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE:

WAIM offer postgraduate courses in Integrated Alternative Medicine (AM) and its specialties. The courses are as – Certificate C - Specialty (AM), Diploma D - Specialty (AM) and Advanced Diploma AD - Specialty (AM). The courses are offered in following branches and specialties.

3.09. IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION:

• All Certificate and Diploma holders are requested to suffix Traditional Medicine (AM) within the bracket with respective certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma. Without suffixing AM will be taken as illegal and legal action may be initiated.
• The above are commonly available alternative medical / healing systems are available in India, other system will be incorporated depending availability and demand.
• Candidates graduated in core systems of alternative medicine can also earn the certificate, diploma and advanced diploma of holistic medicine.
