2.01. MISSION OF STATEMENT:
It is designed and dedicated to provide the integrated traditional medical education (ITME) to the officially and traditionally qualified practitioners of traditional medicines and healing with an opportunity to enhance their academic growth (knowledge and skills) to Postgraduate levels as - Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in general and speciality with the mission to provide the quality service to the patients and helps the community to lead a long productive life.

2.02. AIMS OF THE COURSE:
- To integrate the existing traditional medicine with modern principles, diagnostics and therapeutics aspects.
- To enrich the traditional medicine with adequate scientific backgrounds.
- To make traditional medicine more assessable to the common men
2.03. AVAILABLE TRADITIONAL MEDICINE:
There are about 1350 types of traditional medicine / therapy / healings practiced all over the world. Most of the country has traditional medicine in one or the other name and form. India had traditional medicines known as Indian System of Medicine which has been renamed in a group called AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yog, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy). For practical purposes of implementation, WAIM has involved the following Core and Optional systems on possible scientific grounds;
- Ayurveda or Unani or Siddha (Core System)
- Homoeopathy (Core System)
- Physical Medicine (Core System)
- Yog (Optional System)
- Naturopathy (Optional System)
- Herbal Medicine (Optional System)
- AUM Therapy (Optional System)
- Marma Therapy (Optional System)
2.04. CHOICE OF SYSREMS:
Candidates graduated in any core system can choose any two systems (one core and one optional) for completion of their Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma course.
2.05. ELIGIBILITY TO ADMISSION:
The candidate seeking admission in the institute of traditional medicine must have passed the bachelor / graduate degree as BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, BHMS, BPT or any equivalent medical graduation in any approved traditional medical system of their country.
2.06. COURSE CURRICULUM:
Each candidate will be separately intimated / guided for their course contents in theory, project and article, practical and viva-voce after Enrolment. Besides, theory, practical including clinical, the candidate undergoing Diploma has to write an Article (Not Exceeding 30 Pages) and candidate undergoing Advanced Diploma has to submit a Project (Not Exceeding 50 Pages) except in rare as decided by Academic body of WAIM. The Article / Project must be submitted three months prior to final examination.
2.07. DURATION AND RELAXATION IN COURSE:
All the Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses run by World Association of Integrated Medicine through various institutes are of one, two and three years respectively. Candidates having two years or more experience in any health institution will get one year exemption in Diploma Course and the candidates with five years or more experience will get two years exemption in Advanced Diploma Course.
2.08. SPECIALITIES FOR POSTGRADUATION:
WAIM offer postgraduate courses in Integrated Traditional Medicine (TM) and its specialties. The courses are as – Certificate C - Specialty (TM), Diploma D - Specialty (TM) and Advanced Diploma AD - Specialty (TM). The courses are offered in following branches and specialties.

2.09. IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION:

All Certificate and Diploma holders are requested to suffix Traditional Medicine (TM) within the bracket with respective certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma. Without suffixing TM will be taken as illegal and legal action may be initiated.

Ayurveda being a more prevalent traditional medicine in India so has been initiated first for incorporation in integration at every level.

Based on the above model, integrated traditional medicine courses with Unani, Siddha and other Traditional Medicine could be developed.

Candidates graduated in core system of Traditional Medicine can also earn the certificate, diploma and advanced diploma of institute of alternative and holistic medicine.
