The institute of integrated medicine is the base  of the integrated medical education programmes (IMEP)  around which the other institutes move for teaching, training, treatment, research and its national implementation. This model is the basis for global implementation integrated medical education programmes (IMEP) as the Global Need.

1.01. MISSION OF STATEMENT:

It is designed and dedicated to provide the integrated medical education to the officially qualified students and practitioners of modern and traditional medicine with an opportunity to enhance their academic growth (knowledge and skills) to Postgraduate levels as - Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in general and speciality with the mission to provide the quality service to the patients and helps the community to lead a long productive life.

1.02. AIMS OF THE COURSE:

The courses institute of Integrated medicine has been initiated with following aims;

• To enrich modern medicine with traditional principles, diagnostics and therapeutics tools and techniques.
• To provide the possible scientific backgrounds to the traditional medicine.
• To bridge the existing gaps between modern and traditional systems of treatment and healing.

1.03. OFFICIAL AVAILABLE SYSTEMS:

Present curriculum of WAIM has been prepared with keeping in view, the availability of the commonly practiced medical systems in India. The most common systems available in India are:

A. Modern Medicine:

Synonym - Western Medicine, Western Modern Medicine, Conventional Medicine, Dental Science (Core System).

B. Traditional Medicine:

Here, the following Indian System Medicine has been taken for integration -  Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy (AII are Core Systems), Yog, Naturopathy and AUM Therapy (Optional systems).

1.04. INTEGRATION OF SYSTEMS:

In curriculum of Integrated Medicine system, World Association of Integrated Medicine (WAIM) has involved the following Core and Optional systems:

• Modern Medicine (Core System)
• Ayurveda or Unani or Siddha (Core System)
• Homoeopathy (Core System)
• Yog (Optional System)
• Naturopathy (Optional System)
• AUM Therapy (Optional System)

1.05. CHOICE OF SYSTEMS:

Candidates graduated in any core system can choose any two systems (one core and one optional) for completion of their Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma course.

1.06. ELIGIBILITY TO ADMISSION:

The candidate seeking admission for higher education in the institute of integrated medicine must have passed their medical graduation as MBBS / BDS / BAMS / BUMS / BSMS / BHMS equivalent qualification from India or abroad.

1.07. COURSE CURRICULUM:

:Each candidate will be separately intimated / guided for their course contents in theory, article / project, practical and viva-voce after Enrolment. Besides,  theory, practical including clinical, the candidate undergoing Diploma has to write an Article (Not Exceeding 30 Pages) and candidate undergoing Advanced Diploma has to submit a Project (Not Exceeding 50 Pages) except in rare as decided by Academic body of WAIM. The Article / Project must be submitted three months prior to final examination.

1.08.DURATION AND RELAXATION IN COURSE:

All the Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses run by World Association of Integrated Medicine through various institutes are of duration of one, two and three years respectively. Candidates having two years or more experience in any health institution will get one year exemption in Diploma Course and the candidates with five or more experience will get two years exemption in Advanced Diploma Course.

1.09. SPECIALTIES FOR POSTGRADUTION:

WAIM offer Postgraduate courses in integrated medicine and integrated dental sciences as – Certificate C- Speciality (IM); Diploma D - Speciality (IM) and Advanced Diploma AD - Speciality (IM). The courses are offered in following branches and specialties.

1.10. IMPORTANT NOTIFICATIONS:

All Certificate and Diploma holders are requested to suffix Integrated Medicine (IM) within the bracket with their respective certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma. Without suffixing (IM) will be taken as illegal and legal action may be initiated.

• Other specialties will be introduced on demand and available of Faculty
• Based on the above model, other Integrated Medicine certificate, diploma and advanced diploma courses could be developed in other country on demand of the Institutions / Nation.
• Candidates graduated in core systems of Institute of Integrated Medicine can earn the certificate, diploma and advanced diploma from other various institutes if they are interested.
